We met over coffee-stained textbooks and late-night CPA study sessions — one of us in tax, the other in audit, both just starting our careers at Deloitte. What began as shared notes and survival tips soon turned into a friendship grounded in grit, humour, and a relentless drive to do things right.

As the years passed, our paths took different turns. One of us rose through public accounting, sharpening expertise across a range of industries. The other moved into the corporate world, tackling challenges from the inside. But we stayed connected — sharing ideas, frustrations, and one recurring question:

Despite our success, something was missing. We found ourselves stuck in systems that prioritized billable hours over real impact. The clients we served didn’t reflect the community we cared about. And somewhere along the way, the reason we got into this profession — to build trust, to solve problems, to support people — started to fade.
